Bite My Tongue © 2008 Siuan McGahan

You’re a useless waste of space, what would I gain to tell you so?
To tell you to your face, and tell you what you ought to know.
Your jokes are not funny, you're just in my way
and though you keep trying honey, you've got nothing to say.

I've got a big mouth
that betrays my conscience every time,
I let the words spill out
they cross my lips and cross the line.

I try to bite my tongue, conserve my words.
I try to bite my tongue, be seen not heard.

You whine and you moan and you unfortunately breathe.
The sound of your voice just makes me seethe.
You contribute nothing, you're ungrateful and lame
and your incessant complaints are always the same

I try to bite my tongue, conserve my words.
I try to bite my tongue, be seen not heard.
I try to bite my tongue and not speak out.
I try to bite my tongue, but words leak out.

Of all the things I've gone and said
there's so much more inside my head
but all these thoughts are too unkind
to every truly speak my mind, so

I try to bite my tongue, conserve my words.
I try to bite my tongue, be seen not heard.
I try to bite my tongue and not speak out.
I try to bite my tongue, but words leak out.
