Whispering Girls © 2007 Siuan McGahan

Whispering Girls, whisper in circles of dissent
whispering words, guised in guarded discontent
guessing games, surround meandering intent
whispered names, blistering words too loosely spent

the web, they weave: suspect deceive.
Infer, believe. Not said, but breathed.
A glance perceived, the veil naive.
The trail they leave, a world conceived.
the tangled web of words unwind
tangents twisted over time
running circles in my mind
cutting through the ties that bind

Whisering girls, the air of contempt they breed
whispering words, the tense suspicion tangents feed
guessing games, sow guilt and plant the seed
whispered names, mistrust, malign, mislead

the web, they weave: suspect deceive.
Infer, believe. Not said, but breathed.
A glance perceived, the veil naive.
The trail they leave, a world conceived.
the tangled web of words unwind
tangents twisted over time
running circles in my mind
cutting through the ties that bind
